Your running base
Below are the building blocks for your strong running base. One or more weak blocks will lead to impaired performance and even injury or fatigue. Your balanced training should ensure you have a solid all-round base.

Cardiovascular Fitness

Fit, strong heart and lungs will provide much needed oxygen to the muscles. CV fitness will make for efficient running and more rapid recovery after exercise.

Speed and Strength

A strong muscular-sketal system will allow you to run faster and for longer, without a high risk of injury.

Endurance

Prolonged strength and CV training will allow you to run for longer periods at higher intensity.

Commitment

Strong willpower and a sense of purpose will keep you commited to training and improving your performance.
